Do Not Transport Ash Wood 

Transporting ash wood can spread the EAB infestation. It must be assumed that every ash tree is infected and trees taken down should be handled with care. Contact your local County Extension office for disposal instructions.

EAB Is Spreading

EAB Has been detected in nearly every state and Canada. The infestation is spreading in all directions from is source in Michigan.  It is believed that the original Borers arrived  from Asia in shipping pallets.  As of 2023, EAB have been found 35 states and Canada. It is estimated that as much as 95% of the native ash trees will succumb to EAB if left untreated.

Best Protection Against the Emerald Ash Borer

Research by Purdue University, Ohio State University and Michigan State University have found that lower trunk injection with Emamectin Benzoate 4.0% will eliminate >99% of the Emerald Ash Borer infestation. Treated Ash trees in good health have an excellent prospect of recovery.
